Meet Shilpa

I'm Shilpa — founder of Advaya Holistic Wellness, a certified prenatal yoga teacher and Holistic Ayurveda Health Counsellor based in San Jose, CA (95131). I was born and raised in India, the birthplace of Yoga and Ayurveda.

My training is deeply rooted in traditional, lineage-based teachings passed down by authentic yoga gurus and Ayurvedic Vaidyas from South India, where I completed over 1,000 hours of practical training in Yoga and Ayurveda. These ancient sciences are not concepts to me — they are a lived way of life.

My path into prenatal yoga began from a deeply personal place. While preparing to conceive my daughter, I experienced how profoundly the nervous system, emotions, and physical body are intertwined during fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. This experience transformed my relationship with my body — and inspired me to specialize in prenatal yoga so I could support other women through this sacred transition.
